The good news is not only can you shop small and local you can also shop online at their website maisonette – curate a global home that you can actually shop from anywhere!
I stopped in for the first time after seeing their recent post about hand painted decorative eggs. I also needed a birthday gift. It’s a small space that packs a lot in. The products are artfully displayed as befitting the shop of a creative director. I examined each item, appreciating the colors and textures as well as their forms and functions. It is always nice to give (or get) something that is thoughtful, useful and beautiful.
After inspecting all the things I settled on a honey soap with the most delicious scent as well as a moon blend oil in an attractive bamboo rollerball pocket applicator. Its crisp green mandarin, wild orange and lemon scent in Full Moon “offers us a phase for cleansing, letting go and tuning into our higher purpose.” If that isn’t a great birthday gift, I don’t know what is!
And even better it was wrapped as I waited which gave me an opportunity to check out those beautiful eggs from the ad. I couldn’t leave without a half dozen of them and that was me showing restraint. I don’t know quite what I’ll do with them but they are just too lovely to leave behind with their vibrant variations and delicate details. One even has a woodland scene replete with a little deer.
Before I left I had to ask about the wool rug that that was hanging on the wall. I am not quite ready to make that purchase, but I took a picture for my inspo board. I can already envision it in my bedroom. Maria let me know of others they have in stock and that if I needed something in particular she could custom order or source. The Souk is also expecting new merchandise to arrive in the coming days so keep checking in. I definitely will!
