These utilitarian rubber clogs have entered my universe through my children and now my husband. My husband is a huge fan of his and they have become his go-to shoe due to the ease of slipping them on and off when popping in and out of the house on the weekends with all of his various projects. I have borrowed them when I want to make a quick dash into the garage (not the cleanest floor) and can see why they are so addictive. The best part is when they get dirty, which they do, they can be easily rinsed off or more than likely hosed down. He especially likes these grass patterned camouflage ones to distinguish them from our 3 year old’s rainbow ones bedecked with Croc jibbitz. You probably heard of them by now, if not seen them. And if you haven’t purchased a pair yet now is your chance to get Dad some super rad socks. Socks with your face on them… or his… or the dog who is really Dad’s favorite child, let’s be honest. Also available for Grandpa. Nothing better than Dad easing shoes off of swollen feet after a long day and being reminded of why his dogs be barking and his back is aching. This sunscreen has been road tested by my family for the past two years. The description says it is “100% Mineral Actives, Non-Greasy, Water-Resistant, Fragrance-Free, Vegan, For Babies, Kids or Sensitive Skin, Clear, 3 Fl Oz.” I have tried every zinc face sunscreen lotion on the market and this is by far the best one for easily spreading and being absorbed into the skin. After years of zinc white zombie faces including all of my honeymoon photos from Mexico, this is the clear winner. I hope you have the same results although I cannot guarantee it. Dad will thank you! Especially when he does not have to go to to the skin doctor every 6 months.

This obviously depends on your Dad and how much hair he has and how sensitive he is to that. All of these products claim they can stimulate the hair follicles to grow faster and stronger and slow down hair loss. You are trying to give Dad the fountain of youth so he can be forever young. Let the outside match the inside and all of your childhood memories. However, if your Dad is/was bald, never mind.

This activity is having its moment in the spotlight. Instead of partaking in a high risk activity of actual axe throwing, why not make it fun for the whole family? I have personally hit the bullseye (sorry, couldn’t resist) giving it as a gift with different beers - alcoholic, ginger, root. I get it, everyone has a bottle opener. But do you have one of these? Last but certainly not least there are cap gun bottle openers. Comes in a pair so you can have a battle with all of your caps. The more caps, the more fun!

There is a reason that there is a saying “growing like weeds.” These unwanted fauna can overtake a garden in a day and the tedious efforts of pulling them out can be back breaking work. This highly reviewed tool claims to take the pain out of this unpleasant task. I think I will have to get this for my husband and take it for a test spin. The illustration of the dandelions really sold me. Have you ever tried to pull one out by the roots? That is HARD work! There’s also Grampa’s hand weeder for when you have to get down and dirty. If you can’t trust Grampa, who can you trust?
Grill Scraper
It’s BBQ season and it’s time for a new scraper. I read an article that the steel bristles from the traditional metal brushes can come off when scouring and end up in your food. This could lead to some not too savory results. Since then I have been searching for a safer bristle-less alternative. Here are some scrapers I have found to try out with one even doubling as a bottle opener. As if made for my husband, it should be cross listed under “Best Bottle Opener.”
