This inexpensive Amazon hair product changed my life
I don’t know what took me so long, but I finally did it.
I purchased a hair diffuser to put on my hair dryer. I’m not kidding. This inexpensive plastic and rubber invention made my life so much better!
Part of the reason was simply I had no idea this incredible item existed. It is collapsible, universal and purple which I love but it also comes in other colors you might prefer. The last time I had a diffuser it was an attachment that was specifically fit to my hair dryer. It clicked in and came in the box. I had that hair dryer for so long that I didn’t realize that it had probably degraded or technology had significantly advanced. It did seem as if it was overheating on occasion and taking longer and longer to dry my hair until one day it smelled like it was burning and finally died. I was forced to buy a new one. I got the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Hair Dryer which was a bit of an investment but I never regretted it. I was thrilled with how quickly my new dryer dried my hair in comparison to the old one. Perhaps it was the nano or the titanium or that it wasn’t ten years old. I didn’t dwell on the specifics and just thanked my lucky stars and was grateful.
Fast forward to my hair layers. I grew out all my layers for about two years… and then cut layers again. It’s a constant yo-yo. My most recent layered cut was in May to “lighten” up for the summer. I wanted to wash and wear: towel dry, add texturizing lotion and a cream and go. Unfortunately, that is not as easy to do in the colder months. I found myself timing when I would wash my hair so it would be at night a few hours before bed or in the morning if I knew I would be home and not have to go out for awhile. More often than not I walked around with wet hair that was not very well styled. It was on my last visit to the salon when my stylist laughed at me as I told her what I was doing. She simply grabbed the diffuser and popped it onto the end of her hair dryer and - just like that - my hair was dry and fabulous. She helped me buy it on Amazon before I left her chair. A few days later, thanks to Prime, it arrived. I was nervous that it might not fit or work as well with my dryer but those fears were quickly allayed. I pulled the diffuser rubber nimbly onto the diffuser and turned on the dryer. It was instant magic. I had nothing to worry about. I am in love.
I am passing on this amazing tool to hopefully make as big of an impact on your daily regimen and life as it did on mine. I have included some of my other hair products that I have become my tried and true go-tos after buying all the wrong ones. If you are looking for products that moisturize, protect your highlights from being brassy, add texture and/or reduce frizz you may want to try them. I hope they work as well for you. This is the miracle worker or at least the hair tool you need right now. And it’s collapsible so it’s perfect for traveling, although I just keep mine on my hair dryer for now. It changed my life!
Light and fast this hair dryer is a game changer for me. A total upgrade from my last one. I hope it lasts just as long, but with the same great results!
This is my favorite leave in cream for creating layers with just some after shower scrunching. It was my wash and go cream in warmer weather but now I can say it also works great with the diffuser! I use the THICK hair styler, but their is also a FINE hair styler for this product.
This is the “Don’t Blow It” hair styling cream like above but for FINE hair.
Use this styling cream when it’s a humid day and you know your hair will need an extra non-frizz boost. I use this before adding the Bumble and Bumble “Don’t Blow It.”
Use this after shampooing to moisturize your hair if it’s dry or just needs a little love. Will leave your hair feeling healthy and smooth. Wash out before leaving the shower.
I use this inexpensive but very effective texturizing sea salt spray when my hair needs a refresh after using the Bumble & Bumble “Don’t Blow It”. I have used other much more pricey ones but this one is the best especially for the value.
This is the Aveda Blue Malva Shampoo that I use because it keeps my highlights from getting too brassy or reddish which is an issue when you have naturally dark hair and you lighten it. It’s a really big bottle so you won’t have to buy shampoo for awhile.
This is the Aveda Blue Malva Conditioner I use after washing with the Aveda Blue Malva Shampoo when my hair is pretty healthy and could just use a conditioner. It keeps my hair healthy and smooth and has the same color benefits of the Blue Malva shampoo for keeping highlights from getting brassy.
